Some people are just natural caregivers — empathy and love simply flow from them. Brianna is a textbook true caregiver, and her story is a testament to the family that helped mold this amazing woman.

When I talk about the caregivers I have come across over the years, I always speak of the “heart of the caregiver.” It is an intangible quality — an internal empathy and love that radiates from a person before they even speak a word. This installment of our Heart of the Home series exudes that spirit perfectly.

Brianna, a dedicated professional at Excellent Heart Home Care, is a textbook true caregiver. Her story is a testament to her and the family that helped mold this amazing woman.

A Purpose Found in Connection

Brianna’s journey is defined by a pivotal moment that occurred long before she began her professional career. She recalls stopping to help an elderly woman who was alone and waiting for a ride. Instead of just “checking a box,” Brianna stayed. They talked and laughed nonstop.

That afternoon confirmed her purpose: to ensure that those in the later chapters of their lives never feel invisible.

“Brianna is the kind of caregiver every family hopes for but rarely finds. She consistently goes above and beyond — showing up with compassion, patience, and an unwavering commitment to her clients’ well-being.”

In Her Own Words

What originally drew you to caregiving, and what keeps you motivated?
I’m truly a people person. I love connecting with others, making them laugh, and reminding them that they’re not alone. I genuinely enjoy taking care of people and bringing light into their day. What keeps me motivated is my clients’ smiles and company. Even on my days off, I find myself missing them. I truly love what I do and wouldn’t want to be doing anything else.
How do you define “excellent care” when working in a client’s home?
To me, excellent care means creating a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment where a client feels heard, valued, and supported. It’s about meeting their needs while honoring their independence, routines, and dignity in their own home.
What is the most rewarding part of building a relationship with a new client?
The most rewarding part is earning their comfort and trust. I love seeing clients relax, be themselves, and feel safe knowing they’re cared for. Letting them know, “I’ve got you, and everything will be okay,” is very meaningful to me.
How do you build that vital trust with the families?
I build trust by being myself — honest, kind, and approachable. Families appreciate that I’m personable and genuine. Many elderly clients just want companionship, conversation, hand rubs, or even a little dancing! Families feel reassured knowing their loved ones are happy and comfortable.
How do you balance professional care with emotional support?
I balance both by being attentive to my clients’ physical needs while also being emotionally present. I provide care professionally, but I also listen, encourage, and offer comfort. Emotional support is just as important as physical care.

Professional Excellence in Every Detail

Whether she is acting quickly to prevent a fall or providing a steady hand during oncology recovery, Brianna maintains the high standards Excellent Heart is known for. She treats every client as if they were her own family, combining professional attention to detail with deep emotional empathy.

“I’ve learned that aging doesn’t mean losing value or purpose. Seize the day — live in the moment, be happy, have fun, and don’t wait for tomorrow.”
