Floor lifts fall into a few distinct categories based on how they're used. Full-body floor lifts use a powered mast and a sling to raise an individual who has little or no weight-bearing ability, moving them between the bed, wheelchair, and chair. These come with a manual base, where the legs adjust by hand, or a power base, which widens electrically to fit around chairs and equipment. Fall recovery and floor-to-seat lifts are designed specifically to raise someone up from the floor — some use a motorized folding chair mechanism, while others use inflatable AirLift cushions or battery-powered seats that gently lift the person to a seated or standing position.
