Gentell Iodoform Packing Strip Jar 1/4 in x 5 yd
Sterile Iodoform Gauze Packing Strip in an Easy-Dispense Jar
Packing a deep or tunneling wound means cutting just the right length of strip each time without handling the rest of the roll. Gentell Iodoform Packing Strip comes as a 1/4" x 5 yard sterile gauze strip impregnated with iodoform, stored in a jar with a strip delivery system so you can pull out what you need and close the rest away.
The strip can be used dry to absorb drainage from exudating wounds, or soaked with a solution as directed by the treating clinician. The narrow 1/4" width suits smaller wound openings. It’s not made with natural rubber latex, and it’s used with a secondary dressing over the top to hold it in place.
Key Features
- Iodoform impregnated gauze: a sterile packing strip with iodoform throughout.
- 1/4" x 5 yards: a narrow strip for smaller openings, with plenty of length per jar.
- Strip delivery jar: dispense and cut only the length you need.
- Use dry or soaked: absorbs drainage when used dry, or can be soaked as directed.
- Sterile: ready for use.
- Latex-free: not made with natural rubber latex.
Because the jar holds 5 yards, keep the lid closed between uses and use clean technique each time you pull and cut a length. Don’t put unused strip back into the jar. Iodoform contains iodine, so check with the treating clinician before use if the person has a known iodine sensitivity or thyroid condition. Plan on a secondary dressing to cover the packed wound.

How is a packing strip used?
The strip is placed into the wound opening to fill the space, then covered with a secondary dressing. It can be used dry to absorb drainage or soaked with a solution. Follow the treating clinician’s directions for how much to use and how often to change it.
Is 1/4" the right width?
The 1/4" width is for smaller or narrower openings. Wider strips are made for larger wounds, so match the width to what the clinician has specified.
Can someone with an iodine allergy use it?
Iodoform contains iodine. Anyone with a known iodine sensitivity, or a thyroid condition, should check with their clinician before using it.
