Stand, Sit and Move in One Smooth Transfer, With No Battery to Charge

The Handicare QuickMove helps a caregiver move someone a short distance, from a bed to a wheelchair, a chair to a toilet or one seat to another, without lifting them. The user does the standing: they place their feet on the anti-slip footplate, brace their lower legs against the padded, adjustable leg support and pull themselves up using the handle, with a horizontal or vertical grip to suit their hands. As soon as they are upright, two seat cushions fold down behind them, so they can sit back and rest while the caregiver wheels them to the new spot. When they arrive, the cushions swing away and the user lowers themselves down.

Because it is entirely manual, the QuickMove is always ready: there is no battery to charge and no motor to service. The caregiver can push on the handle to tilt the cushions and help the user up the last part of the way, and the cushions angle to give both people more room. The base opens from 20.4 to 36 inches to fit around chairs, wheelchairs and toilets, and four 3-inch wheels with rear brakes keep it steady while the user stands and sits. It is rated to 375 lbs, weighs 77 lbs and measures 38.6 by 24.2 inches, compact enough for bathrooms and bedrooms. Add the BackSupport for extra stability during the transfer.

Equipment Specialist Insight: The QuickMove works best when the user can bear weight, has some arm strength and can help with the transfer; it does not lift them. If they cannot stand with assistance, a powered sit-to-stand or full-body lift is the right tool. Before each transfer, widen the base around the chair or toilet and set the rear brakes; release them only once the user is seated on the cushions. Choose the BackSupport if the user tends to lean back or needs more security while seated during the move. Keep moves short, within a room or between nearby rooms, and have a therapist confirm the QuickMove suits the user before first use.
