A 400 lb Supportive Walker With Built-In Seat Pads and Room for Oxygen, Drains and IV Poles
The Handicare RoWalker400 is a supportive walking and standing frame for users who can stand and bear weight but need steady support and balance assistance while they walk. The user walks inside the frame with their forearms resting on padded armrests and their hands on the handlebars, and soft knee pads give extra support at the front. Built-in split seat pads sit behind the user, so they can rest on the spot whenever they need to, and the pads swing out of the way to the sides for transfers in and out of the walker.
The RoWalker400 is built around the equipment that often comes with a user in a hospital or care setting: it has hooks for a portable oxygen system and accepts drain bags and IV poles, and optional left and right oxygen tank holders are available. Armrest height adjusts steplessly with a lever by the handlebar, the inner width between the armrests and the distance between the handlebars adjust steplessly, and the armrest and handlebar angles adjust individually. A foot pedal on the caregiver’s side widens the base so the walker can be brought close to a wheelchair. It rolls on four 3.15-inch casters: the rear casters have directional locks to help it track straight, and the front casters lock to hold it still during sit-to-stand. It is rated to 400 lbs and weighs about 83 lbs.

Equipment Specialist Insight: The RoWalker400 is for users who can stand, bear weight and keep their balance with support; it does not lift the user. Set the armrest height so the user stands upright with forearms resting comfortably, then adjust the armrest width and handlebar angle. Lock the front casters before the user stands up or sits down on the seat pads, and use the rear directional locks in long corridors to help the walker run straight. If the user walks with oxygen, an IV or drains, attach them to the frame before setting off. A therapist should confirm the walker suits the user and set the first adjustments.
