Overview

The ActiveCare Deluxe is the premium, furniture-styled rotating bed in the Med-Mizer line — a bed that does the hard work of turning and transferring for you, without looking like hospital equipment in the bedroom. At the heart of it is OneButtonSafeTurn: one touch of the remote rotates the sleep surface, bringing the user from lying down toward a seated, edge-of-bed position so getting up becomes a short, supported motion instead of a struggle. RollBack-in-Place adjusts the head angle while compensating in the lower body, so raising the head stays comfortable.

The Deluxe earns its name with the details. Real wood aesthetics and hidden casters let it read as bedroom furniture rather than a medical device; a battery backup keeps every powered function working through a power outage; and soft, remote-controlled underbed lighting makes night-time movement easier without flipping on the overhead. Adjustable height runs from a low 12.5 inches up to 27.5 inches for easy access or comfortable caregiving, the head and knee sections articulate fully, and a 600 lb capacity gives dependable margin. It’s made in the USA and backed by a 15-year frame, 3-year drive, and 1-year wood-and-caster warranty. A matched set of head and foot boards and side runners is included — choose your finish and exit direction below.

Sizes

  • 80″ × 36″ — standard width.
  • 80″ × 42″ — expanded width.

Exit Direction — Required

Choose Left or Right exitREQUIRED

Because the bed rotates the user toward one side to help them get out, it’s built for a specific exit direction — and this must be specified with your order. To decide, stand at the foot of the bed and picture which side the person gets out toward: that’s your exit direction. It follows the room layout — where the wall, nightstand, and wheelchair or walker sit — not personal preference, and it can’t be changed after the bed is built. If you’re unsure, measure the room and contact us before ordering.

Included Boards & Side Runners — Choose Your Finish

A matched set of head and foot boards and side runners is included with your bed, in four premium wood finishes:

  • Rift Oak — light, cool, contemporary.
  • Hayward Cherry — warm and traditional.
  • Obsidian Oak — deep and modern.
  • Grand Walnut (Finesse) — rich, premium walnut.

Complete Your Bed

1. Choose your mattressREQUIRED

The ActiveCare Deluxe does not include a mattress — you choose the surface that suits how the bed will be used. Match the width to your bed (36″ or 42″).

  • Standard Mattress — Deluxe, Elite, or StatMat — Deluxe multi-layered pressure-relieving foam, Elite gel-infused memory foam that contours closely and sleeps cooler, or StatMat, a self-adjusting air/foam hybrid that responds to movement with no pump or power.
  • Alternating Pressure Air Mattress Set — powered therapy that continuously cycles which areas carry the load. Ordered for right or left exiting to match your bed.

2. Add bed rails, mobility bars & accessoriesOPTIONAL

Shape the bed around what’s actually helpful at the bedside.

  • Bed Rails & Mobility Bars — quarter-length bolt-on or three-position side rails in charcoal, mobility bars for a solid grip when sitting up and getting out, and foot side rails. Mobility bars and foot side rails are side-specific.

Key Features

  • OneButtonSafeTurn — one touch rotates the surface toward a seated, edge-of-bed position for easy exit.
  • RollBack-in-Place — adjusts head angle while compensating in the lower body for comfort.
  • Wood aesthetics & hidden casters — looks like bedroom furniture, not equipment.
  • Battery backup — powered functions keep working during an outage.
  • Remote-controlled underbed lighting — soft light for night-time without the overhead.
  • Adjustable height 12.5″–27.5″ — low for access, higher for caregiving.
  • Full head and knee articulation.
  • 600 lb weight capacity.
  • Boards and side runners included — Rift Oak, Hayward Cherry, Obsidian Oak, or Grand Walnut.
  • Built for a specified left or right exit direction.
  • Made in the USA; 15-year frame, 3-year drive, 1-year wood/caster warranty.

Equipment Specialist Insight: The Deluxe is the premium ActiveCare, and what you’re paying up for is the blend of clinical function and a bed that doesn’t announce itself as medical. The turn assist is the same powerful OneButtonSafeTurn — the feature that hands the hardest part of daily care to the bed — but here it comes wrapped in real wood aesthetics and hidden casters, which matters more than people expect when a bed lives in a bedroom rather than a ward. Three premium touches earn their keep: the battery backup means a power cut doesn’t leave the bed stuck mid-position, the underbed lighting makes a night-time trip safer without a jarring overhead, and the included side runners and matched boards mean it arrives complete and coordinated. The one decision to get right before ordering is exit direction — because the bed turns the user toward one side to help them out, left versus right is set at build and can’t be changed later, so picture the room and choose the side they actually exit toward. The mattress is chosen separately, and White Glove delivery is well worth considering on a freight item this size.

What is “exit direction” and why is it required?

The bed rotates the user toward one side to help them get out, so it’s built for a specific side — left or right. Stand at the foot of the bed and picture which side the person exits toward; that’s your direction. It follows the room layout and is set at build, so it can’t be changed later. If unsure, contact us before ordering.

What makes the Deluxe different?

It’s the premium ActiveCare: real wood aesthetics and hidden casters so it looks like furniture, plus battery backup, remote underbed lighting, adjustable height, and included side runners and matched boards — all on top of the same OneButtonSafeTurn turning system.

What’s included, and what do I add?

The matched boards and side runners are included — just choose the finish. A mattress is required and selected separately (standard foam options or the alternating pressure air set). Bed rails, mobility bars, and other accessories are optional and available on the ActiveCare rails & accessories page.

White Glove Delivery & Setup (Optional)

Because the ActiveCare Deluxe is large, heavy, and arrives partially assembled, we offer optional White Glove delivery and setup. The team brings the bed inside to the room of your choice, fully assembles it, installs your boards and side runners, tests all of the electric functions, and removes the packaging — so it’s ready to use the moment they leave. Add White Glove Delivery & Setup to your order, or contact us and we’ll be glad to arrange it for you.

Exit direction (left or right) is required and set at build — it cannot be changed after ordering. Mattress not included and required; bed rails and accessories are optional and sold separately. Retail packaging and specifications may be updated by the manufacturer without notice. This is a large, heavy freight item; delivery and setup assistance is recommended. Please confirm your width, finish, exit direction, and mattress size before ordering, and always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
