Overview

The Med-Mizer Freedom Flex with Mag Wheels takes the comfort of a tilt-in-space chair and hands the control back to the person sitting in it. Twenty-two-inch mag wheels let the user self-propel with their arms — or push along with their feet — while fixed steering casters keep the chair tracking smoothly and predictably. It's the version to choose when independence matters: getting to the window, joining the family at the table, or simply moving around without waiting for a hand.

Comfort comes from Med-Mizer's patented V-Back Design®, which centers the user for better posture and support without bulky positioning pads, and pressure-relief strapping that flexes to each person's individual contour. Height-adjustable pivoting armrests make transfers from a bed or chair easier, and tilt of up to 18 degrees shifts weight and changes the load without altering hip and knee alignment. Seat height and depth both adjust for a tailored fit, and a durable 11-to-16-gauge steel frame supports up to 350 lbs. Made in the USA, and backed by a lifetime weld, 3-year mechanical frame, and 1-year component warranty.

Equipment Specialist Insight: The mag wheels are the whole point of this version — the standard Freedom Flex rolls on casters and needs someone to push it, while this one puts 22-inch wheels within reach so the user can propel themselves by hand, or foot-propel by walking it along with their heels. That's a meaningful difference in independence, and worth choosing deliberately: go with the mag-wheel version if the person can and wants to move themselves, and the caster version if someone else will always be pushing. Everything else that makes the Freedom Flex comfortable carries over — the V-Back centering, the pressure-relief strapping, the 18-degree tilt for shifting weight during long sitting, and the pivoting arms for transfers. Note the leg rest isn't included by default; add the footrest bracket if leg support matters. Set the seat height so the feet reach the floor comfortably if foot-propelling is the plan.

How is this different from the standard Freedom Flex?

This version has 22″ mag wheels so the user can self-propel by arm or foot. The standard Freedom Flex rolls on casters and is pushed by someone else. Both share the V-Back, 18° tilt, pivoting arms, and 350 lb capacity.

Can the user push with their feet?

Yes — it's designed for self-propulsion by either arms or feet. Set the seat height (12.5″–17.5″) so the feet reach the floor comfortably if foot-propelling is the plan.

Does it include a leg rest?

No — a leg rest isn't included by default. An optional independent leg rest / footrest bracket is available if leg support is needed.

Leg rest not included; the footrest bracket is an optional accessory sold separately. Retail packaging and specifications may be updated by the manufacturer without notice.
