An 11-Pound Portable Ceiling Lift Motor That Moves From Room to Room
The Savaria M-Series Portable is a ceiling lift motor that isn’t permanently installed. Weighing about 11 lbs, it can be carried from one room to another and attached to a compatible Savaria track or freestanding lift system wherever a transfer is needed, such as bedroom, bathroom or living room. That lets one lift serve several rooms instead of installing a separate motor in each. It comes in two capacities: 286 lbs (130 kg) and 440 lbs (200 kg).
The lift runs on a 25.2V lithium-ion battery that delivers about 80 lifts per full charge (measured as 24-inch lifts at 200 lbs). A full charge takes about 2 hours, and a typical daily top-up takes about 15 minutes. Up and down are controlled from large arrows on the unit or from a hand control. Savaria’s SureClip sling attachment opens outward, so sling loops slide on over the raised bar. The unit has an oversized carrying handle and a storage bag for moving it between rooms.

Equipment Specialist Insight: The portable lift is only the motor: it needs a compatible Savaria track or freestanding system in each room where it will be used, and a sling sized for the user, all sold separately. Plan the rooms and transfers first, then choose the track system. Pick the capacity with room to spare above the user’s weight; the 440 lb model suits heavier users. Keep the lift on a daily top-up charge so it’s ready when needed, and have a physical or occupational therapist show caregivers how to choose and position the sling before the first transfer.
