A Memory Foam Wheelchair Cushion With a Contoured Pocket Under the Sitting Bones
The Span America EZ-Dish is a non-powered, 3-inch wheelchair seat cushion built from two layers. A high-density contoured foam base supports the thighs and pelvis, and a round-edged pocket, or “dish,” is shaped into the base beneath the sitting bones and tailbone so those points sit into the cushion rather than on top of it. A viscoelastic memory foam top layer conforms to the user above the base.
The zippered cover has an anti-slip top surface and a non-skid bottom that helps keep the cushion in place on the wheelchair seat. It is fluid-repellent and wipes clean, and a mark on the bottom rear shows which way the cushion goes. A sewn sleeve accepts Span America’s optional Sling-Fill base (2SFB, sold separately) for added stability on a fabric sling seat. The EZ-Dish comes in four sizes from 16 to 20 inches wide, each supporting up to 250 lbs.

How does it differ from the Span America Equalizer?
The EZ-Dish is a two-layer foam cushion, 3″ thick, with a pocket in the base. The Equalizer is 3.5″ thick and adds gel-like polymer zones and a softer insert, and it also comes in bariatric sizes up to 500 lbs.
