The Span America F400 is a powered full-body patient lift that folds down for storage in a closet or for travel, so it can go where the user goes. It is rated to 400 lbs, including the sling, and its lift range runs from 18.5 to 67.2 inches at the spreader bar, low enough to lift a person from the floor. An electric actuator raises and lowers the boom from a hand control, and a 6-point spreader bar works with a wide range of sling styles, attaching by clips or loops.
The base opens from 27.6 inches closed to 32 inches between the legs, and the legs can be spread to get around obstacles such as chair bases. The base stands 4.7 inches high, and foot-operated locking rear casters hold the lift in place during transfers. A quick-release battery charges on the lift with the included plug-in charger or on an optional charging cradle, and a backlit LCD shows battery level with an audible low-battery alert. Overload protection gives visual and audible alerts and stops lifting above capacity, and a manual emergency lowering function lowers the person if power is lost. The lift weighs 90 lbs and assembles with the tools provided. Slings are sold separately.
