A 2.5-Inch Gel and Foam Cushion for Wheelchairs and Geri-Chairs
The Span America Gel-T is a non-powered seat cushion that sandwiches a segmented, gel-filled bladder between two soft foam layers. The gel lets the user sink into the cushion, and because the bladder is divided into segments, the gel stays spread beneath the user instead of shifting away from the bony points of the seat. At 2.5 inches thick, it adds comfort without raising the seat as much as a thicker cushion.
The wipe-clean vinyl cover helps keep moisture out of the cushion and has a non-skid bottom to help keep it in place. The Gel-T comes in eleven sizes: standard wheelchair sizes from 15 to 18 inches wide, larger 19-, 20- and 21-inch sizes that fit geri-chairs, and two bariatric sizes, 22 and 24 inches wide, rated for up to 500 lbs. Span America’s optional Sling-Fill base (2SFB, sold separately) adds stability on a fabric sling seat.
