The Span America Geo-Mattress Plus FP is the firm-perimeter version of the Geo-Mattress Plus, a 6-inch non-powered foam mattress. It is built from two layers of progressive-resistance foam: a soft, high-performance top layer that lets the body settle in, over a firmer bottom layer for stability. On top is a 2-inch Geo-Matt segmented layer of more than 800 individually articulating cells, in head, torso and foot zones, which conform to the body to help redistribute pressure, with Ring-of-Air channels that help carry heat and moisture away. A firmer edge along the sides gives a steadier surface for sitting on the side of the bed and for transfers.
A tapered heel slope at the foot end is designed to shift load from the heels onto the lower legs. The cover has a fluid-proof, wipe-clean, bacteriostatic top, a tri-laminate bottom and a hidden zipper. The Plus FP weighs about 22 lbs and comes in six sizes: four 35-inch-wide lengths rated to 400 lbs, and two 42-inch-wide lengths rated to 500 lbs for expanded bed decks.
