The Span America Geo-Mattress with Wings is a non-powered foam mattress with a raised perimeter. It is 6 inches high in the centre and rises to 8 inches along the sides, where extra-firm, high-density angled bolsters form the “wings” that define the edge of the sleep surface. Lowered, padded openings along the long edges keep getting in and out of bed straightforward. The whole surface, wings included, is topped with a 2-inch Geo-Matt layer of more than 800 individually articulating cells, so the sides are not exposed hard foam.
Under the Geo-Matt top is a dual-layer foam core, and the Ring-of-Air space around the cells lets the foam follow the body and help redistribute pressure. A tapered heel slope at the foot end is designed to shift load from the heels onto the lower legs. The cover has a fluid-resistant, wipe-clean, bacteriostatic top, a tri-laminate bottom and a hidden zipper. The mattress weighs about 24 lbs and comes in eight sizes: 35-inch widths are rated to 400 lbs, and 39 and 42-inch widths to 500 lbs.
