A Powered Mattress Topper System That Adds Airflow and Moisture Control to Your Mattress
The Span America Topper MicroEnvironment Manager is a powered mattress topper system that turns an existing pressure-redistributing mattress into a powered microclimate surface. A low-profile air topper fits over the mattress, and a compact control unit hangs on the footboard and sends a gentle, steady airflow to the underside of a highly vapor-permeable top layer, carrying heat and moisture vapor away from the surface and cooling it by evaporation. A three-dimensional Air Diffusion Matrix liner keeps the airflow moving evenly across the cover, and the design keeps an open path for moisture vapor throughout. It does not rely on absorbent layers or disposable parts. The topper is rated to 500 lbs on 36-inch sizes, 750 lbs on 42-inch sizes and 1,000 lbs on 48-inch sizes, up to the rating of the mattress beneath it.
The Topper fits over the mattress with pockets at the head and foot and a locking strap that runs under the mattress, so it can be added to a bed or removed without tools. The top layer wipes clean in place with hospital-grade cleaners, or unzips for machine washing and air drying, and the inner air layer wipes down and can be disinfected. The fabric is fluid-resistant and bacteriostatically treated. Each complete system includes the air cover, the control unit and a carry bag, and the control unit, cover assembly and zip-off outer layer are also available separately as replacement parts.

Hang the control unit on the footboard and plug it into a wall outlet, and keep it running whenever the user is on the bed; the Topper is not meant for use unpowered. Keep a spare zip-off outer layer on hand so the top can be laundered without taking the system out of service, and replace the outer layer alone when it wears, rather than the whole cover.
