A Compact Folding Power Wheelchair With Dual Batteries and a Wider Seat
The VOCIC V62 Electric Compact Folding Wheelchair is a joystick-controlled power chair that folds down for the car trunk, a closet or travel. Two 250W motors drive the chair at up to 6 km/h (about 3.7 mph), and dual 24V lithium batteries provide up to 12.4 miles per charge. The batteries detach for charging off the chair, or can be charged in place, and the chair arrives pre-assembled with a battery, charger, controller and user manual.
An aluminum-alloy frame keeps the net weight to 60.6 lbs while supporting users up to 264 lbs. The seat is 18.7 inches wide and 20.8 inches from the floor, giving more room than many compact folding chairs. Unfolded, the V62 measures 39.4 by 26 by 35.4 inches; folded, it measures 26 by 13.8 by 31.5 inches. Shock absorption and a combination of solid and pneumatic rubber tires help smooth out sidewalks and outdoor paths, and an electromagnetic brake holds the chair in place when the joystick is released.

Equipment Specialist Insight: Compared with a narrower compact chair, the V62’s 18.7″ seat gives more room at the hips with a similar folded size and weight. If you plan to fly with it, contact your airline well before the trip: each carrier sets its own rules for power wheelchairs and lithium batteries, and will usually ask for the battery specifications and whether the batteries can be removed. Rated range is measured under ideal conditions; hills, rough ground, cold weather and heavier loads all shorten it, so plan outings with some margin and recharge after each day of use.
