The ShearCare 1500 is a dual-layer foam mattress engineered for bariatric use. Available in 42-inch and 48-inch widths, this mattress utilizes a top layer of high-resilient, die-cut foam to provide superior weight distribution and immersion. The base is constructed from LX45 high-density foam, providing the high ILD (Indentation Load Deflection) necessary to prevent bottoming out while ensuring maximum stability for individuals weighing up to 750 lbs.
For specialized skin protection, the ShearCare 1500 features a Lura-Quilt™ foam heel section, which promotes airflow to keep skin cool and dry, helping to manage moisture at the heel area. The mattress is encased in a 2-way stretch treated cover with a concealed zipper and "Barrier Stop" over-flap, providing a durable fluid barrier that protects the foam core from contamination.
